Private Credit Matures – Emergence of Co-Investments and Secondaries
Private credit is rapidly evolving into a more mature asset class, and this session’s goal is to provide a comprehensive overview of its maturation. We’ll explore emerging trends in co-investments and secondary markets, focusing on how these developments may benefit both General Partners (GPs) and Limited Partners (LPs). With the secondary market growing alongside private credit’s maturation, LPs can now access liquidity in traditionally illiquid assets, while co-investments may offer opportunities for enhanced capital deployment, fee reductions, and more strategic partnerships. These strategies are crucial for building stronger, stickier relationships and providing new avenues for growth.
To stay competitive, both GPs and LPs, in our view, must embrace these changes and prepare to take active roles in these evolving areas. GPs need to be proactive in addressing LPs’ needs, offering tailored solutions that align with their goals, while LPs must be ready to engage more deeply in co-investments and secondary markets. This session looks to discuss both of these ideals in both an interactive workshop style as well as through the lens of GPs and LPs active in the market.
